This is
writcraft here, writing a quick intro to the new mods for those of you who don't know us and to tell the members and watchers about our plans for the community. Firstly, both
blithelybonny and I want to thank
marguerite_26 and
vaysh for running such a fabulous community for such a long time, and for giving us the opportunity to be part of their creation. We are incredibly happy to be the new moderators, and we can't wait for the fest next year - we hope to make you proud!
First off, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. We know HP Kinkfest has been really popular throughout the years and we hope it will continue to be so. We don't plan to change the format of the fest, the general timing of the fest or anything at all, really. We will announce dates nearer the time but you can expect Kinkfest to run around the same time of year, and in the same format as it always has. In addition to the annual fest (and because we love kink) we are very open to doing something mid-way though the year on a much more casual comment fest kind of basis, but we will canvas views on that sort of thing nearer the time and will be guided by you, the community watchers and members.
For those of you who don't know us, I have been active in HP fandom since 2010 (and I was a lurker well before that). I write and I moderate
hp_darkarts,
harrybang and assisted with
hds_beltane for the last two years of the fest. My lovely co-mod
blithelybonny has been in HP fandom for over ten years as a writer and reccer. We are both multi-shippers with slash OTPs (Snarry and H/D respectively) but we read and write a wide variety of pairings and hope that HP Kinkfest will continue to be the diverse, kinky, fun, BRILLIANT fest it's always been. We are both passionate believers in freedom of kink in the fandom space and we are thrilled to be part of a community like HP Kinkfest.
Having said we're not going to change anything, we are actually looking to give the community layout a revamp with delicious art and fresh banners to promote the next fest. If you're interested in being part of the revamp as a coding guru, banner maker or artist (we are looking for several artists to contribute both to banners and the comm header) we would love to hear from you at HPKinkfest@gmail.com.
