I'm really glad you saw Scorpius as an individual and not a smaller version of his did. I do try and write next gen kids as characters in their own rights.

I agree with you that Harry won't be the same. :( And I don't think Scorpius gets that at all. At least not yet. And, yes, he did manipulate Harry, even if he's not fully aware of how much.
