*Shudders*. This is disturbing ...as it should be for a subject as such. As Mel said above, this is Darkness hidden under veneer.... the story on the surface had an easy, almost soothing flow of a child who found love and friendship in the Manor, away from his abusive relatives, and Lucius fit right into this facade with his mannerisms and thoughts. The Darkness is supplied entirely by our own understanding of the situation—it's terrifying enough that Harry didn't understand what's going on yet, but even more terrifying is how Lucius is treating this like a small mistake that as long a he can get away with , what he has done is all right and he will likely continue to do when the opportunity presents itself (as hinted by the last line).
