I am so thrilled that framing this story with Harry's pov seems to work for most readers - can you imagine how excited I was when I realised that the snake Harry frees in the zoo was a boa constrictor, same as the snake in "The Little Prince" that had eaten an elephant? :) I just love it when canon and research come together like this.
It pleases me to no end that this was a turn-on for you :) - I really went for eroticising Harry's weight gain to showcase the chosen kinks. Not that there is anything wrong with liking only skinny guys - sexuality can never be forced into what's right, and it shouldn't be.
All that you say about H/D here is so wonderfully put. There is a Damocles sword over their fragile relationship, and no, they cannot be together, not really. In canon, what happens next is that Harry will betray Draco's father as a Death Eater in the Quibbler interview. I cannot yet imagine how Draco will be able to forgive Harry for that. It may be interesting to explore, though, in a fic. I love so much what you say here, So heavy with longing and needs that can never be fulfilled but in these longings themselves.
