PS: Do you think that if Snape and Hermione had been an item, Snape would still have given her the aphrodisiac, or do you think he would be more possessive than that? How would he have reacted to the hair, and what he saw in Hermione's mind?
Actually, thinking about it, if Hermione had been with Snape, the whole cupboard scene would have been totally different... And maybe very dark.
