Of course I'm happy you found Harry in character. That was a really challenge for me and I had to change the story to Scorpius's POV, because writing from Harry's was too upsetting.
A friend pointed out to me that she thinks Harry should have told Ginny beforehand, and I actually think she's right. It would have made for a different and more awkward fic, though.
And yeah, Scorpius really has no idea how bad an idea it is to tell Rose. Or maybe there's a part of him that wants the secret to get out, maybe even wants his father to know, even if he can't consciously acknowledge that.
