And yeah, god, there was this constant pull as I was writing to give Scorpius what he really wanted, to just make Harry do that much more, one unnecessary kiss, just something. But every time I was tempted, Harry stopped me.

I'm really glad you liked the set up! I did put a lot of thought into it because too often the magic or circumstances that force these kids of situations feel too silly or contrived to me. And it was actually GRRM who helped me out--it's always bugged me that every seems to know whether or not a married couple has consummated. How did they all know male person hadn't yet had sex with much younger female person? Did they have secret cameras in their bedchamber? And it was also obviously very important whether or not a couple had had sex on legal terms, i.e. who would be Lord of Blah Castle. So I guessed that a box like this might have solved that problem for magical folk in ancient times.
And of course I'm jld;kfjakd;fds so happy you liked Harry in this. It's weird, but I feel more guilty putting him through this than what I put him through in the Lucius fic.
I love how with each thing you mention, you seemed to really get what I was trying to do spot on. ♥
