Wow! We're floored by the interest in this fest, and ecstatic that you're all so excited. But we suspect a few of you may have been distracted by the shiny prompt submissions and missed the point of the fest. ;-) So here's a reminder of what this fest is about for those of you who haven't had a chance to read the Rules and Information Post.
Our Goal:
To have a fest full of fic and art showcasing kink in a way that is not commonly done. Show us how a kink that many of us would normally shy away from can be titillating and sexy. Push our boundaries and make us like it. :D
How does one 'showcase' a kink?
However you want to! You could write a PWP where the kink is the main sexual act or focus; you could write about someone learning their partner has a kink and how they react to the information; or you could write a story following a character's relationship with a certain kink: how s/he recognizes it, what s/he likes about it, how s/he incorporates it into his/her sex life. Or you could do none of the above!
The important thing is that the entries in this fest be about the kink and the way the characters in the fic interact/react to that kink. Fics that are about something else, but contain kinky stuff, are not kink-driven pieces.
What we are not about:
We are not a squick!fest. As in, the fics/art that are submitted in this fest are intended to explore sexuality and understanding of a kink, not to squick the audience. The mods reserve the right to remove entries that do not meet the spirit of this fest.
Can I claim more than one prompt?
You may only claim one prompt at a time. Once you have completed a prompt, you can claim another by commenting on the claiming.
Prompts can only be claimed by once for fic and once for art
You will be allowed to request your first, second and third prompt choice. If the first choice is already claimed, you will be given your second choice and so on. If all three are chosen, we will offer for you to select another three.
Remember: If you don't like any of the submitted prompts or the one you had your heart set on is taken, you may write your own prompt and let us know in the Claiming Post!

Date: 2009-12-13 08:20 am (UTC)As for the fest running again, we don't know! This is the first time the fest has run, so another installment during the year will depend on how well this one turns out. If the fest runs smoothly and there's enough interest for another run sometime over the summer, we'll certainly consider it. :D
