Author's Notes: Scarification wounds purposefully take a long time to heal in order to form more scar tissue. Draco tells me that as a wizard he demands magical methods and refuses to suffer beyond the initial high he gets from Hermione's art by using Muggle methods of aftercare. I've adapted scarification for the HP universe by creating magical means of healing the wounds quickly while enhancing the desired effect and removing the risk of infection. I hope you can accept the possibility that witches and wizards can do things with magic to form and heal scars that Muggles can't.
