Author's Notes: I altered my use of the prompt just a tiny bit so that the prostitution thing happened during the war, not after. 'Arachne' is the name of a woman in Greek mythology that was turned into a spider. She is the weaver of webs. "Solnyshko moyo" = Russian for "my sun" – an endearment for a lover (specifically female). Roman oven = A traditional direct-fired masonry oven build of stone/brick which dates in Western culture to the Roman Republic. Used for artisanal bread cooking and baking.
