Thank you to everybody participating in HP Kinkfest 2018. We hope you're having fun with the fest. A reminder that most of the works can be found via the Archive of Our Own collection HERE if you're keen to catch up on your reading, reccing and reviewing. This week is the late posting week which means you are free to post pieces to the fest collection at any point during this week until midnight EST on Sunday 11 March.

If you want to post during this period, you can add a work to the AO3 collection (or your personal tumblr for art) and post headers with links to your work direct to the Livejournal and Dreamwidth communities. If you don't have access to any of the three posting platforms (DW, LJ and Tumblr) please send your headers with a link to your work to hpkinkfest@gmail.com indicating which platforms you do not have access to, and we will replicate your header post on those platforms where you need us to do so.

As the fest is not anon, a reminder too that you can post links to your work on your personal journals too and on any relevant ship specific comms, for additional promotion. We will post a final wrap-up next week with links to all of the works, including those that aren't hosted on AO3.

We have now sent emails with posting dates and instructions to every participant who signed up to participate in HP Kinkfest 2018 as of Sunday 14 January.

We have been WOWED by the number of sign ups and we are so excited to drop a heck of a lot of kinky content on you all starting Monday 19 February when the fest begins posting. As always, this is going to be a quick burst of kink, and the majority of the fanworks will post over a two week period, so get ready for all the goodies our talented creators have to offer.

For those following the fest as readers, reviewers and reccers, you will be able to access the fanworks from multiple platforms this year. The majority of the Kink Fest creations will post to our AO3 collection here (or Tumblr in the case of some artists) and links to all fanworks will crosspost to the fest LJ, DW, and Tumblr as well. We expect around four posts every day for the two main posting weeks of the fest. As with previous years, we have a third posting week for those who miss their posting date or those who want to dive in at the last minute, with additional pieces.

Because of the brilliant response so far, we have decided that any additional sign ups which come in after this point will be assigned a posting date between Tuesday 5 March - Sunday 11 March (i.e. our third posting week) so we don’t overload the first two weeks and our creators get the attention they deserve. If you wish to create additional pieces, or if you wish to sign up to participate from this point, please keep in mind that you will need to be able to post within this week. If you absolutely cannot do so, then you can contact the mods at hpkinkfest@gmail.com and we’ll see what we can do, as we really don’t like turning kinky fanworks away ;-)

Thank you so much to everyone involved so far, whether you have prompted, signed up, promoted the fest, or beta/alpha read for participants. For those creating for the fest, do check your emails and if you haven’t got notification of your posting date, please just drop us a note and we’ll get back to you asap. Claiming for Harry Potter Kinkfest 2018 will open on Monday 8 January at:

3 p.m. CT / 4 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. GMT

Please work out when that is in your timezone and get ready to submit your claims. Claiming will happen via Google Form and the full instructions will go up when claiming opens. By way of reminder you will be asked to choose your top three options in order of preference as prompts will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. If you are writing your own prompt you can just leave that section blank. You will still need to complete the rest of the claiming form to sign up.

Prompting remains open for another couple of days so do leave your comments on the prompting post if you haven’t prompted already and would like to do so.

We can highly recommend enjoying a glass of fizz and thinking up your EIGHT prompts for Round 9 of HP Kinkfest. The prompting post will go up on 2 January and claiming will open on 8 January.

Due to some significant concerns around the LJ TOS, for the first time we have brought the fest to Dreamwidth and Tumblr (@hpkinkfest), with everything hosted on AO3 (with the exception of art which we will discuss with artists case by case depending on the platform they use). The success of the cross-platform approach will largely determine what the platforms will look like for Round 10, when we hope to be able to run the fest exclusively through Dreamwidth, Tumblr and AO3, so please make sure you follow us on all platforms where you have a presence.

For this Round 9 however, you will be able to prompt via comments here or on LJ or via a google form on Tumblr. Please put your thinking caps on and come up with some corkers. We'll be back with the full details on 2 January.

We have listened to your feedback on Dreamwidth and Livejournal (thank you, everyone) and realise this is a fest a lot of people enjoy so it would be a real shame not to run it again in 2018. On that basis, we are delighted to announce that after much consideration, Harry Potter Kinkfest will be back for Round 9. The timeline can be found below and is similar to the timeline for the previous rounds, with the difference that the fest will run for two weeks with a third ‘catch-up’ week. Your moderators for this round are

Catch-Up Week: Monday 5 March 2018

For the first time, Kinkfest will run across three platforms. Tumblr (@hpkinkfest), Dreamwidth (hpkinkfest) and Livejournal (hp_kinkfest). You can sign up and prompt via any of the three platforms, with the one fundamental, non-negotiable rule that all participants must be aged 18 or over. All fic will be hosted on Archive of Our Own in the HP Kinkfest 2018 collection and art will be hosted either on Archive of Our Own or on the artist’s personal Tumblr, or both, at the artist's discretion. No matter which platform you follow the fest on, you will have access to all of the fest submissions as the moderators will work to ensure the relevant links are provided on each platform. For 2019 we may be phasing out our Livejournal participation due to the updated TOS and as a result we highly recommend you follow our Dreamwidth journal and/or fest Tumblr.

This will be HP Kinkfest’s ninth year and it is always a great way to dust off the cobwebs after the holiday fests. We are trying to accommodate the ever shifting platforms of Harry Potter fandom, but we also want this fest to remain the safe space it has always been for its participants. The ethos of the fest has always been about indulging our love of fetishes and kink. A thoughtfully written kink fic or piece of art that really focuses on showcasing a particular kink or fetish can be a real treat. Our goal is to facilitate people eager to writer or draw lesser showcased kinks and fetishes and we want this fest to be fun and accessible to everybody who wishes to participate.

You will be able to prompt in the usual manner via comments on the prompting post which will go up on 2 January on Dreamwidth and Livejournal or via the ask function on the fest Tumblr. All prompts will be collected HERE and this document will be accessible to everybody and updated daily when prompting opens. You will be able to claim via Google Forms on Tumblr or by responding to a screened claiming post on Dreamwidth or Livejournal. Claiming posts will go up on 8 January.
